Subterranean termites can often go undetected if East Cooper homeowners don’t pay attention to several conditions that are very conducive to termite infestations. Subterranean termites require moisture to survive. Eastern subterranean termites and Formosan termites usually get their moisture requirements from the earth.  A thorough inspection of the soil that touches the foundation wall may reveal an active infestation. We suggest keeping the soil or mulch pulled back from the base of your exterior siding to expose the foundation. A proper inspection window can lead to early detection of subterranean termites.
