East Cooper residents who live on wooded lots or near forests may see this large sci-fi looking bug. The wheel bug gets its name from the spiny circular wheel on its back. This bug is usually seen late summer or early fall. You may get startled when you see this bug, it can be very intimidating. The wheel bug is not aggressive but it is capable of giving you a very painful bite if you try to handle it. The bite feels like the sting of a wasp only worse. This slow moving bug is usually only interested in hunting caterpillars or other insects. If you need help with wheel bug control around your home feel free to give us a call.
